Ain’t no party like a… Cryptoparty!
An evening with IT experts offering you free, highly secure email encryption.
Because privacy is a right, not a privilege.
WHAT will we be doing?
We will teach you to encrypt your email so nobody (not even the NSA or GCHQ) can read it except you and those (with encryption) that you are mailing.
For those who are more daring, we can show you how to encrypt your hard-disk so even a stolen/lost laptop does not divulge your data to the world.
We will work as fast or as slow as is required for your level.
8pm-10.30pm: Email encryption.
10.30pm-Midnight: Extras: anonymous browsing, plug-ins, high level encryption.
WHY is privacy important?
Information about global surveillance has been out there for years. As we have seen in the encroaching surveillance state, people who feel they are constantly ‘watched’ adapt their behaviors accordingly. Perhaps unsurprisingly, governments are either unwilling or unable to uphold our legal right to privacy. The debate is over – we only have the privacy we make for ourselves.
Our offer: Perhaps wine (or beer,cola,vodka,coffee,the,tequila,palinka,..) and snacks to share to make our evening more pleasurable! Donations toward the hacker space and future projects to help those less fortunate than us in other countries would be gratefully received.
What is CryptoParty?
Attend a CryptoParty to learn and teach how to use basic cryptography tools. A CryptoParty is free, public and fun. People bring their computers, mobile devices, and a willingness to learn!CryptoParty is a decentralized, global initiative to introduce the most basic cryptography software and the fundamental concepts of their operation to the general public, such as the Tor anonymity network, public key encryption (PGP/GPG), and OTR (Off The Record messaging). CryptoParties are free to attend, public, and commercially and politically non-aligned. (see theguiding principles)

Why a new page? Deep link not working?
We must rebuild the CryptoParty wiki on this new server! If you followed a link to CryptoParty.org, please try to find the old page on the mirrors, or the new page on this site.
